Configure News Feed Advanced Options

The Advanced Options tab of the News Feed Details screen contains a variety of different features and options, organized into sections. These sections are described below in more detail.

To edit the options within a specific section:

  1. Select Communities from the top navigation bar, then select News Feed from the side navigation menu. The News Feeds screen is displayed.

  2. Search for and select the desired News Feed (see Search for a News Feed for more information on the available search options). The News Feed Details screen is displayed, with the Posts tab displayed by default.

  3. Select the Advanced Options tab.

  4. Click Edit (being sure to click the edit button within the desired section that you want to modify). The Edit News Feed pop-up window is displayed.

  5. Enter the desired configuration options.

  6. Click Save.

Member Posting Section

This section is used to configure Member permissions for creating posts.

  • Allowed to Post: This feature determines which Members are allowed to post in this News Feed.

    • All Members: All Members can post in this News Feed.

    • No Members: No Members can post in this News Feed.

    • Some Members: Search for and select the specific Member(s) who can post in this News Feed.

  • Post Visibility: This feature determines when new Member posts are published.

    • Post Immediately: A new post is published immediately upon saving.

    • For Approval: A new Member post must be reviewed before it is published. New posts will be "hidden" by default. After reviewing the post, click Unhide to make it visible to other Members.

Member Commenting Section

This section is used to configure Member permissions for commenting on other posts.

  • Allowed to Comment: This feature determines which Members are allowed to comment in this News Feed.

    • All Members: All Members can comment in this News Feed.

    • No Members: No Members can comment in this News Feed.

    • Some Members: Search for and select the specific Member(s) who can comment in this News Feed.

  • Post Visibility: This feature determines when new Member comments are published.

    • Post Immediately: A new comment is published immediately upon saving.

    • For Approval: A new Member comment must be reviewed before it is published. New comments will be "hidden" by default. After reviewing the comment, click Unhide to make it visible to other Members.
